As we continue to celebrate #UNC25, hear from #UNCgrad Ma’Kylah Lucas about a few of her favorite moments at #UNC. 

🎓 Ma’Kylah is from Wilson, North Carolina. This May, she received her bachelor’s in medical anthropology with health and society. 

🐏 A highlight of her Carolina experience was gaining experience and participating in many different spaces. “In my second year at UNC, I was apart of the Student Athletic Training Program and worked with uncfootball. I also volunteered at UNC Hospitals through the Volunteer Program and was a member of the Inaugural BIOL 119 class, which allowed me to become a patient sitter. Additionally, I was a research assistant across two labs, which provided a great deal of experience and understanding of my future field.”

💬 Ma’Kylah’s advice to Tar Heels is to live in the moment. “You only get so much time in undergrad, so take advantage of all the opportunities and networking available. Put your best foot forward and make a different in the community.”

🩵 After graduating, Ma’Kylah will miss sporting events and Pit Poppin Fridays. “These events have allowed me to connect with the student population and form my community here at Carolina. I will also miss my Carolina_Covenant Family and all the events and programs that helped me grow professionally and personally.”

👣 When asked how she imagines her Heelprint at Carolina, she said, “I imagine that my Carolina Heelprint is small but impactful. Through my experience and involvement in many clubs, organization, and committees, I have been able to leave my Carolina community in a great space. I have made a difference in so many people’s lives and strive to continue.”
