As we countdown the days leading to graduation, hear from upcoming #UNCgrad Alycea Adams about a few of her favorite moments at Carolina. 

🎓 Alycea is from Charlotte, North Carolina. This May, she is receiving her bachelor’s in information science with a double minor in entrepreneurship and urban planning. 

🐏 A highlight of her Carolina experience was cheering with carolinacheerleading for three years. “There is no comparable feeling to cheering in front of thousands of fans in the Kenan Memorial Stadium and Dean E. Smith Center. Also, traveling to the 2023 Women’s NCAA Tournament in Ohio to cheer on uncwbb was unforgettable!”

💬 Alycea’s advice to Tar Heels is to try new things, even if you’re scared. “I have made lifelong friends, secured internships and found mentors by going to on-campus events. Putting myself out there and telling peers and professors about my interests has opened countless doors for me. It’s important to remember that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Get out of your comfort zone, explore that ‘itch’ or interest that keeps you up at night and be curious.”

🩵 After graduating, Alycea will miss game days as a student. “They are like no other and I will forever be a Tar Heel fan through and through!”

👣 When asked how she imagines her Heelprint at Carolina she said, “My Heelprint will be a roadmap for students that have a passion in entrepreneurship. The work I’ve done with building my startup HairMatch and qualifying as a finalist for the 2025 Microsoft Imagine Cup competition will show students to dream big because anything is possible. UNC_Shuford is where my Heelprint will shine brightest. As a Shuford AM, I serve this minor program to encourage and inspire students to explore entrepreneurship at Carolina. I plan to continue being an example for other student entrepreneurs to follow.”
