On June 19th, 1865, Union troops marched into Galveston, TX and informed the last enslaved people in the southern United States that they were free. This year, we celebrate the 160th anniversary of this important moment in history. 

We kick off #CivicSeason on Juneteenth for a reason – the holiday reminds us of the struggles and hard-won victories in our ongoing journey to form a “more perfect union.”
