Can you tell what’s missing from the 1964 Columbus skyline? 🤔 ➡️

At the time, the LeVeque Tower stood alone as the tallest building in the city.

You can also see City Hall, the Supreme Court Building, and the riverfront courthouse.

The Broad Street Bridge (1921-1990) still spanned the Scioto, the first bridge to cross the river in Columbus. Now, the Discovery Bridge stands in its place.

Missing? Three of the four tallest buildings in Columbus: the Rhodes Tower, Huntington Center, and William Green Building were added in the 70s and 80s.

The riverfront has also changed since the photo. After several dams were removed, the previously underwater land became the Scioto Greenway recreational areas.

Less visible from this view: One Nationwide Plaza, the Franklin County Courthouse, the AEP Building, Borden Building, and Three Nationwide Plaza round out the next five tallest buildings in Columbus.
