## Caption

This panorama of downtown Toronto was taken on April 21, 1925. The vantage point was a building roof just south of New Union Station, now roughly the location of Scotiabank Arena, looking north and north east.

1. The south side of Union Station, with the foot of Bay Street on the right. The clock tower of City Hall (now Old City Hall) is the tallest point. Globe and Mail Fonds 1266, Item 5023.

2. The tallest buildings in this photo are the cluster of skyscrapers at King Street and Yonge Street. You can see the Dominion Bank building (now part of One King West), the Royal Bank building on the northeast corner, the Canadian Pacific Building on the southeast corner, and the Traders Bank just south of it. All four of these towers are still standing. Fonds 1266, item 5025

3. The building with the conical roof, on the northeast corner of Yonge and Front Streets, is the Board of Trade Building, which had recently become the headquarters of the TTC. Behind it rises the King Edward Hotel. Fonds 1266, item 5026.
