If you can’t bear the thought of Christmas until the Trick-or-Treaters have been and gone, then look away now.

For today’s episode of Tips & Tekkers, we’re heading to Seoul with illustrator ByJae_ for a mini tutorial on how to make a Christmas card featuring a charming pop-up risograph cottage.

Here’s a breakdown of her process:

• Put your maths hat on to plan your design, make sure your blueprints are architecturally sound

• Then comes the creative bit, start planning the colours and visual details of your design

• If using risograph, you’ll want to think about which colours to use for each layer
Scan or save your designs, convert to grayscale, and label each layer with the intended print colour

•Once printed, it’s time to cut and assemble - you’ll need scissors, glue, cutter, bone folder, ruler, awl, and a cutting mat

•After cutting all your pieces, create sharp folds for every edge and fold, and then start building and gluing your house together before attaching it to the centre fold of your card

•And voila! A beautiful festive masterpiece

Will your loved ones be getting one of these this year? 🎄
