“Joan Trivilino has always loved hiking, and at 64, was seeking out a big adventure. Still, the idea of carrying a backpack, sleeping in tents, and cooking her own food held no appeal. When she learned about Adirondack Hamlet to Huts, a nonprofit that hosts guided and self-guided overnight trips throughout the park’s 6 million acres, she was intrigued.”
