“…My trauma is something that wasn’t fully confronted, or accepted, until I had my first abortion. My abortion brought it all out to the surface, a culmination of emotion, submerged through years of darkness, finally illuminated. Becoming pregnant was not in my best interest at the time. I wanted to give myself a chance at healing. A chance at feeling free, to actually feel my own body – my sense of self, awareness and emotions without my past looming over with restriction, the limitations of shame and grief within my own body before bringing in another life.

The abortions were hard for me, and I will carry them forever. But I now have the opportunity to alchemize my painful experiences, not only with my childhood, but help others with abortion support and assistance, resources, and guidance so I can be of a service to someone who needs it. So I can give back. I hope my story helps someone today.” 💙 #ShoutYourAbortion
