#OnThisDay in 1943, A. Reynolds and Eleanor Morse met Salvador Dalí, an encounter that sparked a lifelong friendship & one of the most impressive Dalí collections in the world. 

After acquiring their first Dalí painting, "Daddy Longlegs of the Evening—Hope!" (1940), the Morses arranged to meet Dalí at his solo exhibition in New York. Decades later, their passion became what is now The Dalí Museum.
