#Streameast has been shut down after a year long investigation, according to a leading United States-based anti-piracy organization‼️

Two men were arrested on suspicion of copyright infringement in El-Sheikh Zaid in the Giza Governorate of Egypt. During the raid, authorities seized laptops and smartphones suspected of operating the sites.

The network of 80 unauthorized domains generated 1.6 billion combined visits over the past year, providing free access to global sports.

The Athletic has been informed by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) — a coalition of 50 media and entertainment organizations including Amazon, Apple TV+, Netflix and Paramount — that an operation alongside Egyptian law enforcement officials took place on Sunday August 24 to disrupt Streameast’s dominant position in the illegal streaming market.

“ACE scored a resounding victory in its fight to detect, deter, and dismantle criminal perpetrators of digital piracy: by taking down the largest illegal live sports platform anywhere,” said Charles Rivkin, chairman of ACE and chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association (MPA).
