🍂 Welcome, September and the ‘ber months! September has arrived, bringing in my Fall Bucket List Series, where each week we explore autumn classics, create new traditions, and savor the season’s comforts.

🍎 This week, on my bucket list, is to make more apple treats. For a delicious start, I’m baking these Apple Danishes.

Dough:

1 cup milk - 8 oz (lukewarm)
1/2 cup - 127 grams granulated sugar
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
4 1/2 cups -  550 gras all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter/ 1 stick (room temp)
2 eggs (room temp)
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
1 tsp cardamom 
1 tsp nutmeg 

Cream Cheese Filling:

1 egg yolk
1 tsp lemon juice 
8 oz cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup granulated sugar 

Streusel:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter
1 tbsp vanilla bean paste
1 tbsp cinnamon 
Pinch of salt

Apple Compote:

1/3 cup brown  sugar
1/3 cup apple butter
2 tbsp lemon 
1 tbsp cinnamon 
2 to 3 Medium Honey Crisp Apples (diced)
