blackeyedpeas are pulling up for the youth. 🔥

More than a stacked lineup, the Wake the Giant (wakethegiant807) Music Festival is one of the largest student-orientated cultural awareness projects on Turtle Island.

Each September, as Thunder Bay begins to welcome hundreds of Indigenous students, the waterfront transforms into a massive celebration of music, dancing, and food. 🌎🎶

“Imagine being 13 years old, packing up your life, and moving far away from home. The students arrive in a city they’ve never seen, live with people they’ve never met, and navigate a culture that often feels worlds apart from their own.” (wakethegiant807)

The welcoming celebration also features an Indigenous arts market, bannock off a hot fire, wellness tents, on-site elders, community workshops and more. 🙏🪶

Since its inception in 2019, Wake the Giant has attracted huge names year-after-year, such as Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, Galantis, Jessie Reyez, and more.

How sweet is this?! 🥹👏 Should more cities across Turtle Island host cultural experiences like this?! 💭⤵️
