At the start of 2023, Ricoh decided to launch a limited edition version of its highly popular GR III called the 'Diary Edition'. Functionally, it's just a GR III (but was the first to have the shutdown screen info and negative film preset that later on would be given to the GR III and GR IIIx via firmware) but it looks different and was bundled with accessories and mobile software that all tied into this daily-life diary aesthetic.

The idea with it was to be your companion, recording your life's events as a diary. The leather grip, body pattern, strap and case all work to evoke this sort of tactile, organic Indiana Jones-esque vibe. It probably feels very bohemian to carry this in an heirloom leather satchel nestled alongside reading materials, notebook and a flask.
