usairforce F-35A Lightning IIs assigned to the 48fighterwing’s 495th Fighter Squadron maneuver through the Mach Loop, Wales, May 8, 2025. The aircraft conducted low-level flight training to maintain readiness and demonstrate the U.S. Air Force’s continued commitment to regional security and allied cooperation. 

The “Mach Loop” is a series of valleys in west-central Wales that has become a famous gathering place for plane spotters throughout the United Kingdom. For photographers who seek to photograph low-level tactical flying maneuvers, it’s a key location to add to the bucket list.
