nasa has captured the first-ever images of the interaction of shockwaves from two supersonic aircraft in flight.

The images feature a pair of T-38s from the usairforce Test Pilot School at edwardsairforcebase, flying in formation at supersonic speeds.

NASA is using this data to support the development of quiet supersonic technology.
