Yesterday April 16th Part of #Kwibuka29 We Joined forces with cmuafrica students and friends of our_past_initiative and visited the Ntarama Genocide Memorial to honor the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi laid to rest there.

The group also had a chance to interact with some of Ntarama (Bugesera District) Genocide survivors at Aheza Healing Center of gaergrwanda and learn both about their hard journey during the Genocide and in the 29 years since.

Recounting her testimony, one of the survivors commended the bravery and sacrifice of the young #Inkotanyi men and women who tirelessly fought to stop the Genocide and save her and many others.

At the end of the visit, both groups the cmuafrica students and our_past_initiative delivered a message of hope, in-kind support, some home basic needs and sanitary supplies to the survivors.
