## Caption

One of Dalí’s most important artistic symbols is the crutch. As the story goes, the artist discovered a crutch in his father’s attic and grew an immediate attachment to it. This would culminate into an impressive collection of canes. 
 
In his artwork, Dalí used the crutch as a symbol to represent death, impotence, a prop for snobbery and the need for emotional and physical support at various stages of one’s life. #TheDali #DaliDecoded
