#TSRPolitics: More than 1,000 current and former US Department of Health and Human Services employees signed a letter to Secretary #RobertFKennedyJr. on Wednesday, accusing him of putting “the health of all Americans at risk” and calling for his resignation. Employees from almost every agency signed the letter, including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the FDA, and the National Institutes of Health.

The letter, also sent to Congress, follows a turbulent week at the CDC, CNN reports. Newly confirmed director Dr. Susan Monarez was fired by the Trump administration after refusing to approve new vaccine restrictions, according to people familiar with the matter. Her removal prompted four senior CDC officials to resign.

“Secretary Kennedy continues to endanger the nation’s health,” the employees wrote, pointing to his role in Monarez’s firing, the loss of longtime CDC leaders, the appointment of “political ideologues” to vaccine policy roles, and the revoking of Covid-19 vaccine emergency authorizations.
