I recently spoke about the caution #POC need to take when getting laser procedures; for more information on what treatments to get, check out my recent video. 
 
Today I want to talk about why this is. My biggest concern as a dermatologist is the potential scarring & permeant disfiguring that the wrong light-based lasers/settings can cause. Many of you asked if there is a way to reverse this damage; unfortunately, there is no good simple fix. Each case is different, which is just one of the many reasons I recommend getting laser performed by a skilled provider, such as a board-certified dermatologist who has experience using laser devices on dark skin.
