I get asked all the time, “should I use a #retinoid ?

Let’s get into it! 📚

This powerhouse ingredient is a personal staple in my skincare routine. With benefits from anti-aging to anti-acne, it is also one the products I recommend most.

Retinol is a type of #retinoid that is available over the counter in formulas up to 2%.

Wondering how to incorporate #retinol into your skincare routine? Save this list for a quick refresher on the do's and don'ts of retinol use.

DO
- Use retinol only at night. Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays.
- Apply SPF every morning to protect your skin from harmful UV rays (you should do this whether or not you're using retinol!)
- Ease into it., suggests introducing retinol slowly and gently into your skincare routine to avoid irritation. Start off with a pea-sized amount of a low percentage (01% to 0.03%) twice a week until your skin acclimates.
-Moisturize after applying to help hydrate skin and reduce the risk of irritation.
DON'T
-Use retinol if you are pregnant or nursing.
-Layer with benzoyl peroxide as this combination can lead to irritation.
- Start with high potency retinol. Give your skin time to accumulate. Start with a low percentage formula and gradually work your way up to a higher concentration.
