We are thrilled to announce a new batch of merch in the SYA shop (link in highlights & bio). The LAWS AREN'T REAL collection features SYA collaborations with Bryan Funck of beloved Louisiana metal band thou_band_official and a design from Roger Peet (toosphexy ), Portland printmaker and co-founder of justseeds . We've got winter garments like long-sleeved tees and hoodies, as well as some special little things including hand mirrors, pennants, and mugs.
 
⚡️Abortion belongs to the people, not the courts. Laws regulating abortion access don't reflect majority opinions, and they lead to disastrous public health outcomes: maternal mortality rates are three times higher in states with abortion bans, and Black women are up to four times more likely to die in childbirth compared to white women. Laws do not know what is best for human beings. ⚡️
 
Above all, laws are not actually a description of what is possible. The #WeCount study from Society of Family Planning shows that the Dobbs decision did NOT dramatically impact abortion access, thanks to the availability of pills by mail, scrappy activist networks like abortion funds who have been building pathways for decades, and communities that are committed to helping each other find access no matter what. We will never stop having abortions or helping each other get abortions.
