Today is #internationalsafeabortionday. I’m fueled by my connections to activists all over the world, from Ireland to Argentina to Colombia to Puerto Rico to Mexico, and I want to go everywhere. I want to go Derry to meet the folks from derryforchoice, I want to go to Guanajuato to meet the folks from Las Libres, I want to go to Argentina with albinacabrerra, I want to go to Colombia and Chile. People from places where abortion has been illegal for decades often tell me they used to look to the US movement to see what could be possible, and now they look in total disbelief (they also consistently tell me we need to burn down buildings, again, five year plan). I am looking to them because they know how to help each other survive without legal abortion, and because they have managed to build coalitions that have triumphed over seemingly unwinnable odds in order to secure abortion rights. Today i am sending my whole entire heart to everybody in this fight worldwide. We are brave and relentless and we love each other and this shit lives in our DNA. I see you and I remember that we are literally unstoppable, and even on the worst days, I know that we are going to win.
