😍 EEEE THIS CAME IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY!!! 😍
"In order to tell my abortion story I have to begin with my mother, immigrating from China to America in 1993. 
Because I cannot tell my abortion story without telling my family's stories. 
Lineages of people who believe in endurance and sacrifice so that the next generation can "have it better." I have to start telling my story from here... When you said 'I will always hold you,' after I told you about my abortion, I felt myself heal in a way I didn't even know that I needed. 
I realized in that moment that in our inheritance we don't just pass down joy. 
We also pass down pain, we pass down silence, and we pass down shame.
But all it takes is one generation, one link, to reverse this."

This is the first time that both my abortion story and my mother's abortion story exist side by side, because she didn't tell me about hers until I went public with mine.
And today when I went to the polls I couldn't help but feel the truth that I am a queer first generation API femme who is the daughter of immigrants and has had an abortion in this country casting my vote 💕
And while I have no doubt in my mind that our collective liberation is not going to come thru the government, I also recognize that my life and the people I love will face very different realities in this lifetime depending on who is in office.
