Black architects helped to shape modernism as we know it today, and their creative contributions have been undervalued and under-researched for too long. 
 
Getty just gave $1.2 million in grants to SavingPlaces’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund to preserve 8 historic modernist sites by Black architects and designers. These buildings speak to the experience of Black communities in this era, and include churches, cultural centers, swimming pools, and more. #TellTheFullStory
