## Caption

Can you name the gods and goddesses featured on this 17th century drinking vessel?

A young man lies face up, surrounded by mythological royalty. Minerva holds his left hand and urges restraint while Bacchus pours wine onto his chest. Cupid pushes the man's face toward Venus, who eagerly looks on as she holds her chest.

This wine-themed ivory goblet is nearly two feet tall and most likely a banquet showpiece meant to be viewed rather than utilized.

It's not just pretty—it comes with a message! Drinkers should consider moderation, or indulge to their heart's content until they lie down with the drunken putti.
