Have you ever been to Bulla Regia?

This Roman and Byzantine-era city is located in northwest Tunisia. It is an archaeological site with over 350 excavated mosaics, most of which are in their original locations.

Some of the houses at Bulla Regia have underground levels built around two-story atriums. Many of the mosaics found on this subterranean level are in good condition and can be seen today as they would've been experienced when they were made thousands of years ago.
 
Bulla Regia was the site of a model field project carried out by the Getty in partnership with the Institut National du Patrimoine of Tunisia and the World Monuments Fund.

The goal of the model field project was to improve the conservation of in situ mosaics — those in their original archaeological locations — throughout the whole region. The work involved the creation of a conservation and visitation plan, and conservation work on an entire building, the House of the Hunt.
