It is decorated with a mythological battle: the epic fight between heroic Herakles and the monstrous, many-headed Lernean Hydra.

You can see Herakles holding his club, the many-headed serpent Hydra (for every head cut off, two grow back), and Herakles's sidekick Iolaos wielding a sickle.

Can you spot the crab? Legend goes that though Herakles crushes the crab, the goddess Hera rewards both the Hydra and the crab by putting them among the stars—today, you may know the crab as the constellation Cancer.
