Capybaras 🤝 nearly indigestible amounts of fiber

Capys are hindgut fermenters which means they do all their fermenting after the stomach in the cecum or colon.

Benefits of being a hindgut fermenter include: the ability to ingest large amounts of low-nutrient foods and faster processing of food. 

Negatives include: needing to eat a LOT of plant material to thrive on an herbivore diet and possibly eating your own poop to replace lost nutrients. 💩
