What's that? That freaky thing?

It seems odd for an animal that lives in the deserts of East Africa to be hairless, but naked mole rats don't need hair for protection from the sun since they're always underground. It's hard to see, but they do have about 100 fine hairs on their body that act like whiskers to help them feel their surroundings.
