It's time for our November Penguin Progress Report! Strap in, 'cause this one is a doozy 🐧

For the month of November, our Outstanding Penguin of the month is Katy! Katy is our most senior penguin in the colony at 28 years old. She's had a tough year, but she's coming through it with shining colors! Katy's mate got a new home in Dallas, so Katy found herself a bachelorette. She's been keeping busy staying out of trouble in the colony and just recently started her second molt this year which is highly unusual and physically taxing for a penguin. For showing us how tough and resilient older ladies can be, Katy is our outstanding penguin for November.

For the penguin who needs improvement for November, we have voted Harlan. Harlan has been with his girlfriend, Parker, for a few seasons already, but he's just recently found a pretty single lady in the neighboring box next door: Cookie. Harlan has been leaving Parker and their nest box and visiting Cookie at her box. Cookie shamelessly flirts back and follows him home. It's so bad that Parker came out of their box and left their egg unattended to look for missing Harlan who was off canoodling with Cookie.  Many sources say penguins mate forever, but we can tell you Harlan is one of those birds who doesn't play by the rules.
