Keep your eyes peeled for a beary important addition to our Andean bear family. Congrats Alba! Animal care staff are monitoring our first-time mom closely, and so far the cub appears to be thriving. Alba and her mate, Turbo, were stars of The Zoo: San Diego. 
The birth of Alba's cub is of great significance to conservation research. It will allow San Diego Zoo Global researchers and animal care staff the rare opportunity to learn about mother and cub interaction, and cub development.
