Welcome to day 23 of our #25DaysofPhotographers advent calendar! Today, Brian Gort (briangortwildlife) talks about how wildlife photography helped him recover after a serious accident. "Initially, I took up wildlife photography as a relaxing and therapeutic past-time, following a serious cycling accident I had some years back. I was left with a chronic traumatic brain injury, and needed a way to deal with constant fatigue and head pain as a result.

Nature became a way out for me, a relief from day-to-day life, and a passion. I love sitting calm and silently in the mornings, waiting for that precise moment to capture the beauty of wildlife through my camera.
