J.Lo rose to fame through her portrayal of the iconic Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez in the 1997 biopic “Selena”. She earned $1 million for that role becoming the first Latina actress to ever make that much for a role. She would go on to make her mark in the early 2000s through her roles in classic rom-coms like “Maid in Manhattan”, “The Wedding Planner”, and “Monster in Law“. Lopez began her musical career with her debut album “On the 6” in 1999 and continued making music through the 2000s and 2010s with hits like “Get Right”, “On the Floor” and “Waiting for Tonight”.⁠
