The latest season of Love Island is on everyone’s radar and with it controversy surrounding contestant Yulissa Escobar, who is of Cuban descent. The 27-year-old from Miami, FL came under fire after clips resurfaced of her using racial epithets in a podcast episode. The uproar from fans emerged prior to the season premiere last week, at a time when Yulissa had presumably lost access to her phone. The contestant only made it as far at the second episode, where she was quickly removed overnight without explanation.
