The best works of art are the ones that connect us to our roots and culture ❤️ Boston-based artist, sculptor, and jewelry maker Ja’Hari Ortega’s “Big Hoops to Fill,” a life-size swing set of golden bamboo earrings, is now on display at the Greenway park in Boston, Massachusetts. The Roxbury native is celebrating Black and Latinx communities and culture with the installation, which she says was inspired by the iconic “door knocker” hoops popularized by Black female hip-hop performers and aims to “heal one’s inner child” and “foster confidence in one’s identity and culture.”
