Denim Day is an annual observance and campaign run by Peace Over Violence (peaceovrviolnce) to raise awareness and help prevent sexual assault. On this day we would like to highlight the prevalence of sexual assault among Latinas and the work that has been done to raise awareness. ⁠

The campaign originates from the 1992 case of an Italian victim whose rapist was convicted only to have his conviction overturned, arguing that her jeans were too tight and therefore she "must’ve helped him" remove them which implied consent, according to a statement from the Court.⁠
