Selena Gomez is Billboard’s Woman of the Year! The Mexican-American singer and actress received the 2025 Billboard Latin Women in Music event on April 24 and spoke about how Latinx culture and stories deserve to be celebrated. While Gomez wasn’t physically present at the event, she delivered a heartfelt speech through video. 

“This means so much to me as a Latina. I have been working most of my life and to be seen, supported and celebrated by women who share our roots is truly, truly powerful,” Gomez said. “Our stories, our voices and our cultures deserve to be celebrated.”
