Mexico just took some huge steps towards protecting animals. 🐾 On December 2nd, Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum signed a set of constitutional reforms paving the way for a federal animal welfare law and enshrining animal protection as a fundamental value in the Mexican Constitution. After 17 state Congresses followed the Senate and Chamber of Deputies’ approval of the reform, animal welfare is now embedded in Mexico’s highest legal framework.
