Pioneering Mexican actress, producer, and politician Silvia Pinal is considered to be one of the most iconic actresses of the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. The larger-than-life actress passed away in the afternoon of November 28th in Mexico City  due to complications with an infection. She got her start in film at age 18, playing a small role in the 1949 film “Bamba.”Throughout her career of over 60 years, Pinel was a breakout star during the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, appearing in films like “Viridiana,” “The Exterminating Angel,” and “Simon of the Desert.” 

Her Instagram account posted a tribute on November 29, sharing a picture of Pinal with her signature blonde hair and a caption that reads: “Goodbye to the last great diva of Mexican cinema: Mrs. Silvia Pinal.”
