## Caption

Iconic Chilean author Isabel Allende’s 1982 novel “La Casa De Los Espíritus,” or “The House of the Spirits,” is considered one of the most important novels of the 20th century and a classic in Latin American literature. Prime Video announced in July that an 8-episode original series based on the iconic novel is set to be filmed in Chile, and now the first look is finally here.

“La Casa De Los Espíritus” follows the turbulent lives of the Trueba family across generations amid political upheaval in Chile. Spanish actress Nicole Wallace will star as Clara Del Valle, who has otherworldly powers and is married to volatile patriarch Esteban Trueba, played by Mexican actor Alfonso Herrera. Mexican-American actress Eva Longoria and Allende are executive producers alongside showrunners Francisca Alegría, Fernanda Urrejola, and Andrés Wood. The series will be filmed entirely in Spanish and set in Chile with a mostly Latin American cast as opposed to the  1993 film adaptation starring  Meryl Streep, Jeremy Irons, Antonio Banderas and Wynona Rider.
