Reproductive rights had a major win in Mexico this week. The Congress of the State of Zacatecas approved the decriminalization of abortions of up to 12 weeks of gestation with a total of 21 votes in favor and 6 against on  Wednesday, November 20. “We will continue to build a fairer, freer and more egalitarian Zacatecas for everyone. With respect for the rule of law, with social sensitivity and with the firm commitment to protecting the dignity and rights of women and pregnant people, we say: it is time for justice, it is time for equality!” the Congress of Zacatecas wrote in a statement posted to Instagram.
