## Caption

One of the most beloved magical realism novels comes to life in a new Netflix adaptation. Written by Mexican author Juan Rulfo, the 1955 novel “Pedro Páramo” is one of the most important works of Mexican literature. The new film adaptation, released on November 6th, stars Mexican actors Tenoch Huerta (Wakanda Forever) and Manuel García-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer).

In the film, protagonist Juan Preciado, played by Huerta, embarks on a journey to the village where he was born to find his father Pedro Páramo, played by García-Rulfo. When he arrives, he discovers that the village is now a ghost town and that his father has died but meets a series of interesting characters and learns about his father’s ruthless quest for wealth and power.
