That’s not the only hardship Latina women face in the workforce. A report by leaninorg and mckinseyco found that only 75 Latinas will be promoted to managerial positions for every 100 men. With the buying power of $1.7 trillion (yes, we said trillion), we think it’s time they’re represented at all levels.

The current #wagegap and lack of opportunity for Latina women make them the lowest earning group of any major race/ethnicity and gender group. Latina-led households have median annual earnings of $38,718 for a year of full-time work – that’s below 200% of the federal poverty level for a family of three.

Policymakers, we’re looking at you. Employers, it’s time to pay up and create policies surrounding childcare and paid sick leave that will allow women to stay and thrive in the workplace.
