Legendary actress Rita Moreno received an honorary doctorate from Harvard University in honor of her almost eight decade-long career in Hollywood where she not only served as a trailblazer, but inspired generations of performers. Rita was brought to tears when Harvard surprised her with a performance of the song “Somewhere” from West Side Story.

In an Instagram post later, theritamoreno shared, “Little Rosita from Puerto Rico just received a doctorate from Harvard University. The sky’s the limit y’all.”
