Banned Books Week is a time to bring attention  to the harm that censorship—predominantly of BIPOC-authored book titles—causes students, authors, and readers at large through the challenging and/or banning of books. With 1,128 unique titles challenged this year alone—as of August 31, 2024—it is important to discuss censorship and how it can affect Latinas in publishing. ⁠
