McCallum won the annual Battle of the Bell rivalry game against Travis 52-13. Neither team scored for the majority of the fourth quarter, until the last few minutes of the game. Travis gained possession of the ball and its offense slowly made its way up the field. Although the Knights’ defense tried to prevent them from scoring, Travis pushed forward for a touchdown on third and goal with 1:47 left on the clock. Travis kicked in the extra point to make the final score a 52-13 Knights victory and the 17th consecutive win over the Rebels.

Following the game, the Knights rang the victory bell. Senior football players, Blue Brigade and cheer all had the opportunity to give the bell a ring, as did senior photographer Julia Copas. The victory bell will be sent to have the score engraved, and then will remain at McCallum until next year’s Battle of the Bell, when the Travis Rebels and McCallum Knights will fight for possession of the bell again.
