Integrated directly into the fuselage, V-BAT ViDAR delivers a low-SWaP maritime surveillance solution that preserves space and power for additional mission-critical payloads. The passive EO sensor system can simultaneously detect and track many targets, giving customers wide-area situational awareness while the V-BAT’s nose gimbal provides zoom for detailed inspection of specific targets of interest.

V-BAT ViDAR expands search coverage by 3–10x compared to conventional gimbal sensors alone, giving customers the ability to scan large areas quickly while retaining the precision of gimbal inspection. For existing V-BAT 5.3 customers, the capability can be added by swapping the fuselage and updating software, making the upgrade straightforward and cost-effective.
 
Now in the final stages of a rigorous test campaign, V-BAT ViDAR is undergoing intensive ground and flight testing to ensure it meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. Like every Shield AI system, it is built to be field-ready, scalable, and combat-relevant.
