My first local tv package about @gobrightline new high speed train connecting Orlando and Miami! I gave myself a fun project to simulate what it be like to work for the local news and cover a story for the day! No one told me to this. This was just me wanting to get reps and work on my craft :). Enjoy this package breaking down the new service, its benefits, and what could be coming in the future from Brightline!

I want to be as well rounded of a reporter as possible. This means being able to talk and create packages beyond sports. Many sportscasters start in local news to hone their craft and build up their reels. And by honing your craft at local news, it will only help your ability to talk sports!

I started the moment I arrived at the train station in Orlando. I ended the moment I arrived at the train station in Miami. What I needed to have done was a full ready for tv package. This 3.5 hour deadline included filming videos, gathering interviews, writing my script, tracking my video (voice overs) and editing…. All done on the train! 

Transparently, I did hit my deadline. I had a package tv ready, but would not have been my favorite work. As I am still very young into my program, I am literally learning on the fly concepts for making packages. Many of the concepts I will learn in future classes. So by practicing/learning now, it’s only putting me ahead and in a great position!

To help me improve, I sent my initial package to alumni and instructors of @danpatrickedu of @fullsail . I am a sponge soaking up information and open ears for feedback. They gave me amazing constructive feedback on how to improve my package now and how to improve in the future.

From the feedback, I spent Saturday editing the video and now posting my final results. Let me know your +/-! I had so much fun doing this and felt myself up level from this personal project. Be on the lookout for more videos like this coming out in the future!
