Xin was awarded for her role in the film “The Sun Rises on Us All,” directed by Chinese filmmaker Cai Shangjun. ⁣

Xin is the third Chinese actress to pocket the Golden Lion trophy, after Gong Li won the award for the first time in 1992 and Hong Kong’s Ip Tak-han won in 2011. ⁣
