“No, this is the right way and only way to do it.”

Just like so many other players, over the years, I’ve been told this and would get pulled in so many directions with how my training & throwing progression should look like.

I’ve tried hundreds of different variations, drills, and progressions. I’ve also listened to so many different people with how it “should be.”

Truthfully, I don’t think there needs to be a specific cookie cutter “must be,” nor a “has to be.”

I truly think every baseball player has their own way that works best for them. For me my throwing progression “must” be something that has a focus to each session. Whether I am focusing on a certain pitch, feeling my lower half in long toss, working on a mechanical cue, doing recovery throwing, touch and feel bullpen, or ramping up for a start on the mound. My throwing progression also “has” to be a progression of drills that gives me a better “feel” of my body and provides a routine for me to lean on in season.

Personally, finding what’s right for you when ramping up for season can only be found when you try new things and create a throwing routine that is best for you.
